Lake Fairlee Camp was designed and built as an adult family club on 300 scenic acres, 20 miles from Dartmouth College. Each cedar shingled cottage enjoys the privacy of its own setting amid towering groves of pine, maple and white birch trees. The Camp commands sweeping views of the Lake, the lawns and the Green Mountains beyond. The lawns slope down through pleasant woods to a 1/2 mile of shorefront and our own private beach.
Over the years the charm of this setting has attracted artists, writers, composers, choreographers who have found the scenic beauty and the privacy most productive. It has also attracted those who find Fairlee a very welcome respite from writing, teaching, composing, creating and all that sort of hard work which they do all winter.
Cottages/Facilities
As you enter, a large stone fireplace greets you. The comfortable living/dining room contains a complete kitchen facility. From the living room you enter the bedrooms and the connecting bath(s). The cottages vary in size from one to four bedrooms.

Each cottage is fully equipped with pots, pans, silverware and dishes. Bedrooms have innerspring mattresses and pillows. Guests are asked to bring their own linen, towels and blankets. Each cottage has its own hot water system. Fireplace logs are provided by the Camp. Laundromats are nearby.

Our two clay tennis courts are enjoyed both for the sport and for the congenial fellowship among our guests. Our private waterfront is a most scenic setting on Lake Fairlee. It offers swimming in crystal clear waters. Row boats are there for your use. Those who enjoy golf will enjoy the many excellent courses in our immediate area
Area/Directions
Our area is the cultural and commercial center of New England. It is here that the rivers join, that the two Interstate Highways intersect, that buses and planes have main terminals. The richness and diversity of the people and activities offered here, are only highlighted by the Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth College. The summer weeks are filled with concerts, theatre, opera, exhibitions, film series, lectures and much, much more to feed a refined taste. Towns like Hanover, Woodstock, Lyme, Orford etc, are filled with architectural and visual delights.

Dining out means selecting from among an extraordinary range of restaurants...with every style of cuisine and price. It's the icing on the organic cake- so to speak.

Auction going is Vermont's summer sport. Nothing provides a better introduction to Yankee history. Bidding and buying is secondary.

Food and daily needs can be bought just 2 1/2 miles away. Within a half hour drive are major malls, supermarkets and shops for every need...and things you never knew you needed.

The Mary Hitchcock Hospital and Clinic is part of the Dartmouth College Medical School complex. It offers superb care and it is 25 minutes from Camp. It's also a lovely facility with shops and a food court.

Lake Fairlee Camp is located between exits 14-15 on Route 91 in Vermont.
From exit 14: Go 6 miles to Post Mills (through Thetford), about a 1/4 mile after the SHARP left turn, you will pass the general store/gas on the right. Quickly after, turn Right onto route 244, about a 1/4 mile later, take the Right fork in the road, past the cemetery. Go to the top of the hill (pass the lake on your left) to the STOP sign. Turn left. Just past the red barn on your right, will be the entrance on your left. Come in slowly.
From Exit 15: follow signs towards Fairlee/route 5. Turn RIGHT onto route 5 and go about 2 miles to the bottom of the hill. Turn Right onto 244. Go about 2 miles. Just after the 40 MPH sign there will be a sign indicating a road on the left towards camps. Turn left. Go about a mile, slowly. Till you see 2 big stone pillars on your right. That is our driveway. If you pass the big red barn on your left, you just past it.
